WELCOME TO NORDSØ-FESTIVALEN
Year 2009 is approaching and this means that it is time to invite bands from near and far to the 20th Nordsøfestivalen. We in the festival-team are already preparing the next festival and we hope to meet a lot this time too!
Both the the festival-management and the organizers have been the same throughout the years and this continuity has resulted in the possibility of continuously improving the festival. However, things, that can be improved or changed, might still occur and we will try to do so as far as it is possible.
Looking back upon the earlier years a lot of funny incidents and remarks come into ones head, as when an official took a wrong turn leading a marching band in Tivoliland, Aalborg and the band ended up playing in front of a brick wall. Or when a band, during a marching-exercise on the beach in Blokhus, was caught in a cloudburst. The band rushed to the hotel, went to the balcony on second floor and sang: God, how wonderful you are! So you see, good spirits have never been in short supply on the Nordsø-Festival!
Continuity has also been prevailing on the judiciary. The first year the judges came from Hedmark in Norway: Mr. Karsten Dalsrud, Mr. Torgeir Ziener and Mr. Konrad Opdahl. (The last-mentioned said after the prima-vista-competition: This was a strange experience!) From 1991 the Oslo-area took over the judiciary and for a number of years the judges were Mr. Rolf Nøddelund and Mr. Leiv Flisnes. When Mr. Flisnes passed away Mr. Rolf Myhre took his place, and today he is the veteran among the judges on the concert-competition. Mr. Rolf Nøddelund passed away in 1998, but a highly qualified replacement has been found in Mr. Johnny Olsen. We must not forget the only Danish judge, Mr. Carsten Bilde, who for a number of years has judged the prima-vista-competition, furthermore he is the one among the present judges, who has been on the festival the longest and he is an inestimable support at the competitions in Saltum. Finally, we would like to welcome all the musicians and the leaders to come and celebrate our 20th anniversary together with us in Blokhus in 2009.
WELCOME TO AALBORG
A hearty welcome to the Nordsø-Festival 2009 and a hearty welcome to the city of Aalborg.
Every year we have a lot of guests - from all of Denmark and from abroad, and believe me - we are extremely pleased with everyone who chooses to visit Aalborg.
The citizens of Aalborg are hospitable people and are proud of showing their city to you.
Aalborg has a very active and well-functioning musical life for young people. We have four large sites for rhythmical music and every summer a series of outdoor-concerts are being arranged.
I know that participants from Norway, Germany, Sweden and Denmark have taken part in the festival, so I am convinced that you will have a lot of exciting experiences to bring back home.
My hope is that you will have a lot of fun and excitement during your stay. Welcome!
Best regards,
Henning G. Jensen
Mayor of Aalborg
